About the Philippe Starck Driade Costes Chair

Designed by Designed by Philippe Starck for the Café Costes in Paris, the curvy Costes dining chair has a black-painted, tubular steel frame and a veneered, plywood shell. Its generously padded seat cushion is available in eight shades of aniline leather. Available with a low or high back, the Costes works particularly well with circular dining tables, such as the Noguchi Cyclone.

The Story behind the Philippe Starck Driade Costes Chair

Designed in 1984, this collection of chairs marked the beginning of a beautiful partnership between Philippe Starck and furniture company, Driade. It's unique three-legged design was made so that the waiters in the cafe wouldn't trip up as much over the chairs.
