Prince Harry and his soon-to-be-wife, Meghan Markle, recently undertook their first “joint” royal engagement with the ever-popular William and Kate (more formally known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge), and there wasn’t even a hint of pomp or ceremony.
The Royals are going for a fresher, more in-touch-with-the-people approach, and the fabulous foursome chose to come together for the very first annual Royal Foundation Forum -a place to air views and set out their plans for the future. They looked young, vibrant and full of hope and enthusiasm, an image which will hopefully supersede the stiff and stuffy guise that has often gone hand-in-hand with the Royal household of old.
Making A Connection
This was all about connecting with people, letting the public know what the young royals care about – the tagline said it all “Making a Difference Together.” Royal robes were replaced with smart, yet casual, attire – Wills played it straight with a smart suit but teamed it with a jumper to keep things laid back. Harry opted for a relaxed shirt (with top button undone for maximum effect)! The girls looked good as always, with Meghan sporting a chic navy-blue dress and Kate showing off her cute baby bump in a vibrant blue number. The crowns were swapped for fashionable hairstyles (William being the exception – this heir is rather short of hair – but we still love him). Instead of thrones the modernistic royals placed their noble derrieres on stylish and contemporary Swan Chairs by VOGA.
Inspired by Arne Jacobsen, the Swan Chair was originally designed for the Royal SAS Hotel in Copenhagen, and as its name suggest it resembles the elegance and grace of majestic swan. The chairs are curvaceous and comfortable, (and if it’s good enough for four of the most renowned royals on the scene it’s certainly good enough for us).
A Deserving Cause.
The Royal Foundation has played a huge part in supporting many deserving causes, from conservation and educating on the need for natural resources to assisting young people to fulfill their potential.
The recent campaign – “Heads Together” focuses on mental health issues, which has been a cause for concern over recent times, and all four royals will be championing this cause going forward. Meghan has also thrown her hat into the ring regarding the recent upsurge in reported sexual harassment claims – professing her support on issues surrounding the empowerment of women.
Four of A Kind.
It appears that all four of the young royals are keen to get their message across. They share a united front and are passionate about the worthy causes they support. They seem to complement one another well, with Harry making light of the occasion with his comment “we’re stuck together forever now.” Let’s hope so, and hope that the Royal family continue to go from strength to strength.
